New study shows multivitamins support digestive health

Vitamin supplements may offer a powerful tool for supporting digestive health, according to a new study published in the Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology.

The findings confirm the idea that vitamins and antioxidants play an important role in keeping the body functioning at its peak of health. The new evidence suggests that this may be particularly true of digestive health.

For the study, researchers fed groups of mice an unhealthy, high-fat diet. Some of the animals were also given nutritional supplements comparable to commercially available vitamins. The results showed that mice in this group experienced improved digestive health, compared to those that did not receive the vitamins.

The researchers said that their findings confirm that vitamins can play an important role in supporting digestive health. This information may be valuable to individuals who are concerned about keeping this area of well-being functioning at an appropriate level.

Results from the investigation also showed that no single vitamin was more important than any other. A simple multivitamin may be all an individual needs.
